Le Djeuner du Mercredi's Club de Lecture on Aug. 8 & 22 at noon.

If you haven't yet joined us for Le Djeuner du Mercredi, this would certainly be a good opportunity to meet other francophiles in the area! Not to mention, to read this "gem of a novel."
And for those of you Wordfest donors who have been asking for updates about the Wordfest and Chapters' partnership, and we promise an update soon!
Wordfest is the 501 c 3 nonprofit literary arts organization founded by Chapters co-owners Terri Merz & Steve Moyer in 2001, and which has sponsored The D.C. International Poetry Festivals.
Wordfest also expanded its programming here at Chapters in 2006 with the monthly Poetry Happy Hour, the Mystery Monday Lunchtime Series, and the Asian Book Club, the twice-monthly Cafe Philo, and weekly on Wednesdays at noon, the French conversation group, Le Djeuner du Mercredi.
Some of you already know Wordfest as the sponsor of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th D C International Poetry Festivals in 2001, 2002, 2004, and last Nov. 2006, which were free, weekend-long celebrations of poetry in translation and in its original languages. The latter three Festivals were awarded grants from the Humanities Council of D.C. and the NEA.
You can read more about Wordfest and Chapters in the great Post Style article on 9/15/05, and the DC Examiner 11/14/05, the May 2006 issue of Washingtonian magazine, July 11, 2006 Roll Call, and the July/August 2006 issue of Pages magazine!
